Can i play Sega Megadrive games on Megadrive 2?

I have Lion King & Aladdin for the Sega Megadrive, i looked at consoles on ebay and there are a lot of Megadive 2's. I need to know if that console will be compatible with my games.

1. i havent got any problems playing my sega games on a megadrive 2. some of the early ones have trouble working though - early as in the first megadrive games from the very early 90s.
2. The Megadrive 1 and 2 models are only physically different. The electronic circuitry inside is exactly the same. It's just a sleeker, more ergonomic design on the outside. Besides, The Lion King and Aladdin were both made after the release of the Megadrive 2!)
3. Yes you can, I have a mega drive 2 and loads of mega drive 1 games and they play fine.
